Are they offering 1,953 chicks? Chicks vintage 1953?
Is "My Deer Noodle" a bit of Chinglish or is there something that just didn't translate well from the Chinese?

For the "my deer", the 1st chinese character within the name is actually "deer"

Thanks for that, had a feeling it could be something along those lines. But what is the connection between deer and noodles? Do they serve noodles with venison? Are the noodles made from deer bits? Do you feed the noodles to your pet deer?

For the "My Deer Noodle", it is not chinglish, it's just a brand name translated with a bit of gimmick. As comments mentioned above, the first chinese character means "deer" in direct translation. while the first and second characters together could be referred to some chinese legend/ stories. As you know, for brand/ film/ ads translation, direct translation is not the best way to impress customers, and it is dull and boring. So "My Deer Noodle" creats double meanings and in the same way it links to the Chinese name of the noodle restaurant. Tho I don't know if the name gives u any other connotation, and I don't know if this is the best translation but I can see the translatior/ restaurant owner did put some ideas in translating the name.
Don't be scared as it is just a noodle restaurant and no deer will be served. HK people don't eat deer meat, except for Chinese medical use. It's quite expensive and it good for health for serious sickness people. You can buy it from Chinese pharmacy.

Bit surprised that HK people don't eat much deer meat. I thought the saying was that Chinese eat everything with 4 legs except the table!
